Ridge Augmentation
After tooth extraction, a bone graft is placed directly into the empty socket where the roots once were. This helps recreate natural gum and jaw shapes after an extraction. Ridge augmentation can be used to prevent the deterioration of jawbone that would otherwise occur following tooth extraction, making it possible for patients to use dentures or receive dental implants.
Ridge augmentation procedures have been proven to benefit the overall health of a patient’s smile and improve their appearance. In addition Recreates a natural bone and gum ridge, which enhances the appearance of your smile and stability for long-term function. It also reduces gaps between the gums and dental restorations.
Dental Extractions
Tooth extractions are performed as part of emergency treatment following an accident or injury, such as a broken jaw; they can also be scheduled so that the patient’s mouth is free of teeth when orthodontic work (straightening teeth) is done.
Dr. Burton and his dental team perform extractions for patients who experience pain or discomfort and have infections caused by damaged teeth. In some cases, a surgical extraction may be required; in others, simple extractions are all needed to remove the tooth. Dr. Matthew Burton performs a dental exam and takes digital x-rays to determine the extent of damage before performing any extractions.
